L.A. Unified provides approximately $1 billion dollars in health and welfare benefits for some employees. We know that some Angelenos may not have access to this and are proud of President Obama's signature policy to provide affordable and accessible healthcare coverage for all. Healthy students and families help us accelerate progress towards the graduation finish line.

LAUSD representatives provide information to parents and district staff on free or low-cost health insurance options, including Medi-Cal, Healthy Kids, Kaiser Permanente Child Health Plan, and others. CHAMP also assists students and their families in obtaining CalFresh, formerly known as food stamps.
