Please check your answers the Inquiry Journal- pages 148-149 Map of Alexander the Great's Territory
1. Geography- The territory has many access points to water, including inland seas and oceans, which can be beneficial for trade and during war.  Mountains provide natural barriers that are difficult for enemies to cross.
2.  The area Alexander ruled was far from Greece.  It included physical barriers, such as mountains and deserts.  The bodies of water are not connected to one another, so information and people wold be forced to travel throughout the territory over land.
3.  Alexander would have faced limits to the speed of communication that would have been possible throughout the empire.  Other limits include speed of transportation and cultural variations.
 
Today's assignment is to complete the inquiry Journal pages 150-151.  I will be posted the answers on Wednesday, so please make sure you complete this work by the end of the day today.
I would also like for you to read pages 235-241 in your history textbook- The Hellenistic Culture.  This will be your first read of the section, so just be aware of the sub headings as you read.
