Charter Lottery Application Period is now Closed

The Charter Lottery Application Period

for the 2018-2019 school year was from

Monday, March 5, 2018 through Thursday, April 26, 2018, 4:30pm.

The Lottery will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 beginning at 12:15PM in the MPR at Nobel.

8th grade drawing will be starting at 12:15pm.

7th grade drawing will immediately follow the completion of the 8th grade drawing.

6th grade drawing will immediately follow the completion of the 7th grade drawing.

Please be advised: 

There are currently 175 open spots for incoming grade 6 students. Grade 6 student drawn after 175 is reached will be placed on the wait list in the order drawn. Currently, there are no open spots for grades 7 and 8. All grade 7 and 8 applicants will be put on the waitlist in the order drawn. Attendance at the lottery is optional and all students and their families will be informed of their status, whether selected for enrollment or wait listed.

Lottery results will sent to the parents and/or guardians of each applicant via telephone message and email the same day of the lottery after 6:00 PM. If you do not confirm your child’s acceptance by May 7, 2018, the offer of acceptance will be rescinded and given to the next student on the waitlist.

IMPORTANT: If you reside within Nobel’s attendance area, you do not need to enter the lottery. All students in Nobel's attendance area are guaranteed admission to Nobel. Students currently attending an LAUSD elementary school will be enrolled automatically. Students currently attending private schools or independent charters but live in Nobel's attendance area are also guaranteed admission, but will need to complete an enrollment packet and provide proof of residency. Only students living outside of Nobel's attendance area need to apply for the lottery.
