Cornell Notes p. 438-441. We will review on Tuesday, with a Quiz on sections 1, 2, and 3 on Wednesday.

This Friday students will informally show and discuss their Festival exhibits for our class only. Suggestions to improve exhibits will be offered by class.

Continue working on Festival Exhibit.

Tomorrow you will have time in class to work on your Festival Exhibit, so bring materials. Each day this week you must discuss what you will be doing for Exhibit homework and show in class the next day what you accomplished. Your group's Exhibit must be complete by this Friday, May 20.

Type your section of the essay., probably will take no more than half an hour..

Do some prep (1 hour) toward your exhibit for the Ancient Civilization Festival. Be able to show what you did in that hour.

Final draft of your 2 Paragraphs (Evidence-direct quote; and Elaboration)

Revised 2 paragraphs (total of 10-20 sentences) for Project will be checked tomorrow by me.

We will continue the Presentations Monday. Therefore, prepare your Assertion, Evidence (Quote from one of the 7 websites), and Elaboration which reconciles the Evidence (quote) to the Assertion. Thank you. Enjoy your week-end !

We are beginning an examination of Primary Documents related to the concept of Democracy. This week long examination of documents, short essay questions, a compare/contrast essay, will culminate in a long Document-Based Question next week, requiring a 4-5 paragraph essay.  To deepen your understanding, please read and annotate (note-taking) the following one page website:

Using Strategies for close reading( circle unfamiliar words, summarize each paragraph) annotate and then summarize each of the two paragraphs of Pericles Funeral Oration, page 366 of History book. Then answer the Document-Based Question on page 366.

Integrate your Cornell Notes onto Chart (page 394). May necessitate the creation of a new category. Include Answer Sheet. This exercise will be used to gain understanding of the 3 Philosophers.

Review pages 752-753 in Literature Bk. Write and/or Revise paragraphs on 1st and 2nd Features (your chosen Category and Technology). In planning and writing use all your resources- books, charts, articles, graphic organizers. Explain why and how differences arose.Explain why differences were significant/important. Make inferences.Write with smooth transitions and coherent sentences . Each paragraph should be 4-6 sentences. 

Write 3-6 sentences about the differences between Paleolithic and Neolithic Ages as they pertain to your Category. Note changes over time, make inferences, and explain importance. If time allows, revise. Use your resources and be aware of the Rubric as you write.
