Finish the rough draft, all four handouts, for characterization

We will start typing in class on Monday.

Working on Characterization. 

We will finish our rough draft by this Friday and type it in the computer lab on Monday and Tuesday.  Students will finish early will watch the movie based on the book.

Vocab. Quiz on WODs 61-70

It will be in a same format as the previous quiz. 

 

Postponed to Monday due to tests in other classes.

Characterization: How does Kino and Juana change in chapter 6?  Find the textual evidence for each character and explain how it supports his/her character development.  Once done with the storyboard, you will work on it in class.

Storyboard for Chapter 6.  You will select 6 important events in chapter 6 to make the storyboard and illustrate each one.  We will finish it up tomorrow.  If you are far behind, I suggest that you work on it at home a little.

Smarter Balanced Interim Assessment

You will need a pronged folder to make the semester folder.  If you can get some page protectors, it will be much easier to organize your folder. 

 

If you can't get the folder, let me know ahead of time; however, the page protectors are optional.

Reading Log is due on Monday, 11/28.

You may earn 20 extra credit points if you read over the week of Thanksgiving and record it on the back of the Log. 

Google "Springboard lauds" and sign in with your lauds email account.

Once you are on springboard, go to Zinc, to articles, then to assigned article.

Finish all the assigned articles.  You must finish playing the vocab. games before you read the article and answer the questions.

Finish typing up your myth on your google docs before Monday.  We will go back to the lab on Monday and revise it.  Do not print it out at home.

Revise and polish your rough draft before rewriting or typing it.

Keep your verbs in the present tense and use appropriate transitional expressions.

Bring everything we've done in class.  You will get a grade for the writing process as well.

Read "Bad Boy" and annotate it focusing on the character development (traits).

You may retake the vocab test next week by Friday.

Period 1: Finish SMM (handout) on the choices and the paragraph about one of your choices

Period 4 and 5:  Choose one out of four choices and write one or two paragraph about it.  Use 5W and 1H: Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How

Finish Say-Mean-Matter about the choices (it's the handout we've worked on in class) and work on the back side of the handout, writing about the choices you've made, what happened, and the lessons you've learned as a result.

 

Your homework will be slightly different depends on what period you are in.  Please check your planner.

Finish drawing a picture and coloring it for your WOD. 

Bring a composition notebook, 5 different colored highlighters, working pens (dark colors), and some loose paper to class on Monday.

Final draft of the Open Mind essay is due on Monday.
