Ancient Civilizations (Period 4) Assignments

Students will be creating a set of Greek Gods/Goddess, Heroes Trading Cards.  Please make sure you follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!!

God/Goddess/Hero trading cards are DUE on Friday, March 9th!!  Please make sure your cards are complete and you followed the guidelines.

Read pages 376-385 in your Ancient Civilization textbook.  Answer questions 1-6 on page 385.

Students are to finish their Greek Pottery assignment started in class.

Students will complete the worksheets- Evolution of Democracy and Greek alphabet that was started in class.

Continue reading pages 359-367 in your Ancient Civilization textbook. Answer questions 1-3 on page 367.

Students will complete the 3.3 Reading Guide- The Growth of Judaism.  Students will have a quiz on 3.3 Thursday, January 18.

There will be a 3.2 Quiz on Wednesday, January 10th.

Students will complete worksheet- The Ancient Israelite's pages 5-6.

Read pages 206-212 in your textbook.  Complete questions 1-6 on page 212.

 

Study for quiz on Wednesday.. The Kingdom of Israel.

 

Students will complete the vocabulary worksheet for Ancient Israel.  Students should find the definitions in their textbook and on the internet.

Students will re-read pages 200-205 and then complete questions 1-6.They will also complete Guided reading 3.1using the same pages in their textbook.

Complete the worksheet Ancient Egypt and Kush word meanings and usage started in class.  Be ready to go over the answers!!

Re-read pages187-191 in your textbook.  Complete questions 1-7 on page 191 using complete sentences when possible. Question #7 Write 3 sentences about Kush!

 

Students should study pages 165-177 in there Ancient Civilization book for the quiz on Friday, November 3rd.

Study the Ancient Egypt Academic vocabulary words for a quiz on Thursday. You may not use your notes!!

Complete the reading notes- pages 26-27  29-30

Egypt's Old Kingdom.  You will use your textbooks pages 165-170 to answer the questions started in class.

Students are to complete the work started in class.  Khufu p.37, and The Kandake of Kush p. 38. 

Students will be completing a index card with an Ancient Egypt term.  Pick 2 icons from the sheet and use them on the LINED part of the card.

The SMOOTH part of the card is for your illustration/color.  You MUST use the entire card!!

Students will be using their textbook and the internet to locate the 27 vocabulary words from the Ancient Egypt chapters in their textbook.  156-192. They must use the sheets provided in class to complete this assignment.  Word-definition-sentence-picture.  Illustrations must be colored.

Students will re-read the article "How to build a pyramid" and write a one paragraph summary on the article.  They will also write a 1 paragraph reflection on their own building experience.

Students must complete the assignment started in class- Guided reading 2-1.. The Nile Valley

Continue reading pages 156-164 in your textbook.  Be prepared to answer comprehension questions in class tomorrow.

Students are to complete questions 1-11 on page 150.  Please make sure you answer in complete sentences when possible.  Students will be having a Chapter 1 test on Monday, October 9th that will cover pages122-147.

Students will re-read pages 142-147- New Empires and complete the Section 3 review 1-7. Please complete in your History spiral or on a separate paper.  Be prepared to review in class.

Students will be having a quiz on Early Humans- pages 122-131 in their Ancient Civilization textbook.  Please study the guide given out in class.
