Those students who are auditioning for a speaking part during the Ancient Civilization Festival MUST be prepared to try-out on May 22nd during class.

Today we started reading about India. Pages 238-245.  Complete the guided reading 4.1.  We had plenty of time to read and work on his sheet!!

 

Chapter 10.2 Quiz is on Thursday.  Please make sure you work on the study guide!

Ancient Civilization Festival is going to be upon us very soon!  Please make sure you bring in your solid HUGE T-shirt that will be worn under the other costume pieces.  You should also bring your own scarf (head piece).

Your homework for tonight is to complete the Guided Reading 10.2- The Fall of Rome.  You will be having a quiz this Thursday, May 16 on Chapter 10.2.  I have attached your study guide that we started in class.

Students will have an OPEN BOOK quiz covering Ch. 10.1 in their Ancient Civilizations textbook tomorrow FRIDAY.

Here is your study guide for Chapter 9 TEST on Wednesday, April 24!!

Students will complete questions 1-21 page 454 in their Ancient Civilizations textbook.  Please make sure your answers are in complete sentences!  This will be your review for our Chapter 9 TEST on Wednesday, April 24th.

Your homework is to finish the Primary Source reading in your history book 452-453.  Answer questions 1-8 using complete sentences.  Question 8 should be one paragraph. This assignment was started in class!

Your homework for tonight is to re-read pages 435-441 in your Ancient Civilizations textbook. Complete the Section 3 Review questions 1-6 page 441.  Please answer questions in COMPLETE sentences.

Read the article: How to Climb the Social Ladder in Ancient Rome

1. Summarize in 2 paragraphs using evidence from the text.

9.1 Quiz on Wednesday!

Look through chapter 9.1 in your Ancient Civilization text book.  Define the following vocabulary using the sheet provided.

Students should study 8.3-8.4 for the TEST tomorrow.  This is an open book test!!

Re-read pages 406-411 in your history textbook.  Complete the Section 4 review on page 411 1-7.

 

Question #7 should be completed on the back of this paper or a separate sheet of paper.  WRITE A POEM ABOUT RURAL GREECE!!

 

Students will read pages 398-403 in their history textbook.  Complete the section review on page 403 1-8 in complete sentences.  Be ready to discuss in class on Friday!

Homework tonight is to finish the first 10 terms from the Chapter 8- The Culture of Ancient Greece that was started in class. You will be able to use this sheet during the vocabulary test, (once all definitions are assigned and completed)  so please make sure your definitions are complete! 

Read, highlight and annotate "Myths and Legends: Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea.  You will write a 2 paragraph summary including the most important information from the article.

Students will continue working with "Myths an Legends: Zeus, supreme god of the ancient Greeks".

Read pages 372-385 Chapter 8 History book.  Complete questions 1-7 that were started in class.

Attention Students!!  Your study guide/review sheet is due Friday, February 8th before your test.  Please make sure all areas are completed!!

You should also re-read pages 351-357 in your Ancient Civilization textbook and complete the section review (3) questions 1-4.

Question #4 should be a full letter to Xeres! This letter should be on a separate sheet of paper.

 

 

Complete ALL Greece worksheets!!  This work will be checked and corrected for credit on Friday, January 25th!

 

Attention:  All students who earned 5.5 or lower on their EARLY GREEKS 7.1 Quiz should list page/paragraph for the correct answer!  These corrections are due TOMORROW ONLY  for additional credit up to a total score of 6/10.  No additional credit will be added after 1/25/2019.

Students will complete the "The Minoan and Mycenaean Civilizations of Ancient Greece" worksheet using the tools discussed in class.  You MUST do each step!

 

Read pages 344-350 in your textbook.  You may use the on-line textbook provided on this site or you can access it on Schoology. Re-read 7.1, review will be on Thursday.  Quiz on 7.1 Friday, January 11th.

Study your Cornell notes for "The Nile Valley" Quiz on Friday, October 12th. 

Read through pages 152-155 in your Ancient Civilization textbook.  Complete the vocabulary worksheet with 12 vocab. words from the text.

Students will be creating a Ziggurat representing Ancient Mesopotamian society. This project is due in class by Tuesday, September 25th.  Late projects will have a deduction in points.

Make sure you study Chapter 1 Section 1 pages 122-131 in your text book.   You should also look over Guided Reading Activity 1-1. There will be a quiz tomorrow!!

Students will be starting this project in class!  This assignment will be used to show how well you understand geographic physical features and mapping skills,

 

Ancient Civilization- Imaginary Place Project is due on Monday, August 27th!!  Make sure you are working daily to complete this project on time.
