Here are the answers to the text-dependent questions on page 156.
Question #1 What is the author's point of view about Grandin's autism? The author views Grandin's autism as an advantage when dealing with animals. The author gives details about how Grandin was able to relate to the horse because she noticed the same details the horse did. She also noticed slight changes in the horse's behavior that signaled that the horse was in distress.
Question #2 Compare the 2 passages, noticing that both talk about Temple's relationship to horses and their importance in her life.. The autobiography gives more insight because it gives a first-person account of Temple's sensitivity to animals, not just caring for them, but also her understanding of them.

Story Lab- Students will continue writing the BEGINNING AND MIDDLE of their story.
Beginning- The beginning of the story introduces the hero (YOU) before you become a superhero with powers. This is where the audience finds out important things about the hero (YOU) like where you live (SETTING), things you like or enjoy to do, and important people in your life. Your personality is also defined in this section.
Middle- The transformation is a big life event that causes the hero to develop or discover a superpower. During this time, the hero (YOU) struggles with using or understanding your new powers. Since you just transformed from a regular person to a superhero, you have a hard time dealing with this new responsibility of being a superhero. This new found superpower often makes you feel like you don't fit in or you are worried about being judged by others.
