Leila Lay » Welcome!

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Nobel Charter Middle School! My name is Leila Lay and I am a 6th grade Math and Science teacher at this fantastic school.

I grew up in Southern California and I am a product of the Los Angeles Unified School District. After high school, I attended California State University, Los Angeles, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. My desire to explore led me to participate in a student exchange program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Upon my return to California, I earned my Master of Arts in Education and Teaching Credential at Pepperdine University. To strengthen my role as an educator, as well as to fulfill my desire to promote education, I also earned another Master of Arts in Educational Administration at California State University, Northridge. I strongly believe in being a lifelong learner and will continue to learn in and out of the classroom.

My teaching experience includes 14 years at a Gifted Magnet MS in LAUSD. I absolutely enjoy working with students, especially 6th graders. Technology and art are both very important in my life, thus, I will integrate them into the classroom on a regular basis. I hope to instill skills in my students that will not only serve as a foundation for success, but encourage leadership.

My husband and I currently reside in Granada Hills with our two wonderful children, Keira and Carter. We love to hang out as a family, try new restaurants, hang out with our friends and watch our LA Kings!

I am very excited about the upcoming school year and most of all, to meet all the incoming 6th grade students!
